I honestly forgot about this one for a while. Or maybe I was trying to forget. It was so damn challenging for me to create this animation, and I think I was afraid to look at it again in case it really looked like crap. A year or so after it was posted on YouTube, I received a text and a call from Dave. He told me that a lot of people really enjoyed the animation. I decided to take another look. It's not so bad.

Above is a color script. The idea being that things started off dull and gloomy and then turning blue, gold, and bright at the end. Red stands out as the things in our life that can cause us pain.
On the left are a few storyboard frames. I would call these beauty boards because they were basically the finished illustrations. I'm kinda bummed I can't find the original boards.

I was pleased with the beard animation

Cloud effects from a collection of 2D animation presets.

Sometimes in my career I've felt like I've bitten off more than I could chew, but I'm a hungry boy. Putting this portfolio page together has reminded me that I am capable of very difficult things. I hope I get to take on more challenging and creative projects like this in the future. Only next time I'd like to work with a team instead of doing the whole damn thing myself.
